The problem of many players is not lack of will. It is lack of routine. One day you watch a video, another day you play without reviewing, then you open the table, then you forget everything. Studying without a system turns into noise.

A simple weekly routine solves this. You don't need to study eight hours a day. You need to repeat the basics correctly.

The principle: play, review, train

The cycle is:

  1. Turn up the volume.
  2. Review real hands.
  3. Identify leaks.
  4. Train similar spots.
  5. Return to the game with focus.

If you only consume content, you lack practice. If you only play, you repeat the error. If you only train random spots, you don't attack your real leak.

Monday: review of the weekend

Stop guessing where you went wrong. Upload your tournament and identify your leaks for free.

Take a recent tournament and review:

  • big lost hands;
  • big hands earned;
  • pre-flop all-ins;
  • bubble spots;
  • river calls;
  • hands in which you were in doubt.

Use the GTO Vyve to import the hand history and look at dashboard, leaks and replay. Note a major leak of the week.

Tuesday: pre-flop

Study RFI, push/fold and defense against 3-bet. Bad pre-flop creates impossible post-flop.

Suggested focus:

  • UTG and hijack: discipline;
  • cutoff and button: theft with plan;
  • blinds: defense and resteal;
  • short stacks: push/fold.

Read: RFI ranges by position.

Wednesday: equity and pot odds

Review hands you paid with draw, all-in or bluff catcher. Calculate:

  • outs;
  • approximate equity;
  • pot odds;
  • if there were implied odds;
  • if bounty changed the call.

Read: Equity in poker.

Thursday: post-flop replay

Choose 5 hands and review street by street. Ask:

  • who does the flop favor?
  • did the turn change the range?
  • river was value, bluff or showdown?
  • did the sizing make sense?

Read: Hand replay.

Friday: trainer and repetition

Train the week's leak. If the problem was short stack, train push/fold. If it was bad call, train equity. If it was bubble, study ICM.

Good training is not infinite quantity. It is repetition with feedback.

Saturday and Sunday: focused game

Before playing, set an intention:

  • "Today I'm going to take care of the river calls"
  • "Today I will respect range UTG"
  • "Today I'm going to book bounty hands"
  • "Today I will review all the all-ins of up to 15bb"

Then, save hand history. The cycle starts again.
